Birch is yellow to light brown sometimes with a darker fleck in the grain.

Fine texture with natural silky lustre.

The timber is medium hard, takes a fine finish and is fairly Stable. The trees tend to be fairly small in diameter so boards over 14" wide are not easy to get.

Through and Through sawn boards some with wanny edges 1" to 3" at £16/Cuft.
